Find Public Toilets Near You

The nearest public toilet, in a few seconds

ToiletNearMe lists 24,446 public toilets across Australia — every facility on the Australian Government’s National Public Toilet Map, sorted by distance from you. Each listing shows the address, opening hours, whether it is accessible, has a baby change table, needs an MLAK key or costs anything, and how to get there. 492 suburbs and towns also have their own page with every toilet in the area.

1. 1Press “Near me” (or type a suburb or postcode) — results sort by distance and show how far each toilet is.
2. 2Filter for what you need: accessible, 24 hours, baby change, free, or MLAK key.
3. 3Tap “Directions” to open the toilet in your maps app, and check recent reports on the listing before you set off.

In a hurry? The emergency toilet finder cuts straight to what is open now. Travelling? See toilets by highway and free showers.

Common questions

How do I find the nearest public toilet to me?

Press "Near me" at the top of this page and allow location access. The list re-sorts by distance from where you are — whether you call it a toilet, restroom, washroom or bathroom, it is the same list — each listing shows how far away it is, and "Directions" opens it in your maps app. If you would rather not share your location, type a suburb, town or postcode into the search box instead.

Are public toilets in Australia free to use?

Almost all of them. Of the 24,446 toilets listed here, only a small number record a fee, and those are flagged on the listing. Use the "Free" filter to hide any that charge.

Which public toilets are open 24 hours?

Use the "24 hours" filter, or open the 24-hour toilets guide, which lists the areas with the most all-night facilities. Opening hours come from the council that runs each toilet; where a council recorded none, the listing says so rather than guessing.

Why is the accessible toilet locked, and how do I get in?

Many accessible toilets and all Changing Places facilities are locked with the Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) to keep them clean and available. Listings that need one are marked "MLAK". People with a disability, and their carers, can buy a key for about $64 from Master Locksmiths or, in some areas, from their council for less — see the MLAK key guide.

Where does this toilet data come from?

Listings come from the Australian Government's National Public Toilet Map, published on data.gov.au under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia licence, and cover 24,446 facilities across every state and territory. Every listing has a "Report a problem" button; recent reports show on the listing so you can see whether a toilet was locked, closed or dirty when someone last visited.
